Spring 2024

Ice Out Contest

It’s a question as old as the lake herself. Every spring Nipissing visitors muse over the age-old question, “When do you think the ice will go out?”. Lake Nipissing is a BIG LAKE, with ice as thick as 30 inches in some winters, but we northerners never tire of watching for any indicative sign of spring.
To celebrate this time honored tradition, and to make things a little more interesting while we wait, Ferris the Place to Be is running an “ICE OUT” contest.

Summer 2024

Ferris Family Fun Day

An effort is underway to promote businesses in the south end of the city with our 2024 Ferris Family Fun Day.

Join over 70 interested business people in the Ferris area of North Bay for the 2024 Fun Day.

The event will feature activities throughout the Lakeshore Drive area with bagpipes, breakfast with the stars, a car display, a dunk tank, and food samples.

There will be a $5 car wash, Clowns, cotton candy, and candy apples. Five hundred hot dogs will be on sale at $1 each at various retail outlets throughout the area, Face Painting and more.

Fall 2024

“Movie under the Stars” event brings with it a great sense of community, and is the perfect family outing to end the hot days of summer – bonus you won’t have to slather the kids in sunscreen or nag them about keeping their hats on, or worry about the bugs!

The event is free and will start at dusk on the Omechile Field. Bring a chair, a blanket or whatever and enjoy yourself.

Refreshments will be on sale at the event.

Winter 2024

Festive in Ferris

Take time this year to celebrate with friends and family here in our store. We are working to restore Ferris to the gem it always was meant to be. Your support of local businesses, restaurants and hotels helps us reach that goal!
